As a car spotter we all have a certain car on our wish list. For some of us this will be a hypercar like the Pagani Huayra, Bugatti Veyron or something else. We often see that the new cars are on top of everybody's list. A Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR AMG is so special that you might not even consider putting this car on you wish list. Spotter cinqantcinq was lucky enough to capture this car on the German Autobahn. This is a really special experience!
Mercedes-Benz never really made a hypercar this special after the CLK-GTR AMG. This Benz seems to come straight from the track and that's with a reason. It was necessary to build a small production of the CLK-GTR for homologation for racing in the FIA races. This happened back in 1997. Mercedes built the CLk DTM AMG, SLR McLaren 722 and SLS AMG Black Series but these cars can't be compared with the CLK-GTR.
This monster is wide, low and looks incredibly extreme. The street versions are powered by a 6.9 liter V12 which produces 612 hp and 775 Nm of torque. In just 3.2 seconds you can sprint to 100 kph and the top speed is 320 kph. Mercedes built 20 copies as a Coupé and six Cabriolet versions. Recently a copy was sold at an auction for the stunning price of $2.364.087,-, this is a real investment car!
