Aston Martin SUV isn't expected before 2017

The big growth of luxurious cars in countries like Russia, Brazil and China has led to the fact that several sports car manufacturers are building a super SUV. The Lamborghini SUV is coming, just like the Bentley. Will Aston Martin follow in 2017?

Aston Martin is still talking with their cooperating partner Daimler, who’s shareholder of Aston Martin. The company wants to make their sales of 4.000 copies a year to 7.000 copies a year in 2016. The flopped Cygnet will not add any extra sales and that’s why Aston Martin will try to come up with the ultimate SUV for the rich. Especially for the big distances in China and Russia, such an SUV will be very welcome!

Another sports car doesn’t seem to be the option for Aston Martin with their V8, Vanquish and DB9. To keep up with the growing segment of Super SUVs, Aston Martin will need to make a decision on a short term. The development of such car will take at least three years. Aston Martin will probably cooperate with Mercedes’ AMG division during the building process of an SUV. Both manufacturers share technology with the development of their new V8 engines.
