The Carrozzeria Touring Disco Volante won’t get as much attention as the new Ferrari LaFerrari or Porsche 991 GT3 will have on the parlour of Geneva. Despite that it was one of the pearls of the Autosalon of Geneva. The magazine ClassicDriver had the opportunity to drive the car for a photoshoot.
The design of the Disco Volante will be love on the first fice for one, and disgusting for the other. According to Carrozzeria Touring there are several interested people in the car at the moment. Of course this means a donor car has to be used. This is the already limited Alfa Romeo 8C which isn’t in original state anymore, the complete bodywork is rebuild. About 4000 men hours are needed to transform the 8C into the Disco Volante. This is one of the better instances of perfection and high technology combined with oldschool craftmenship, the ultimate expression of bespoke design. The coachbuilder estimates to find six owners for the Disco Volante.
