Back in 1959, De Tomaso was founded by an Argentinian in Italy. Years passed by in which a few models left the factory. It's very quiet around De Tomaso for a while already and they don't build any cars anymore. This might change in the future because the Italian company is bought.
On an auction the brand was sold to a Swiss holding named L3. With a offer of just over two million euros it was enough to steal it away from other interested companies. Chinese and Italian bidders were also interested but the Swiss holding is the one that got away iwth De Tomaso. We don't know anything about their plans but rumors say that they will build a new factory in Italy and the first car should leave the factory in 2021!
