If everything goes according to plan BMW will start the production of the M2 at 'BMW Werk Leipzig' in november this year. Many enthousiasts of fast BMWs have been looking forward to the little rocket that has the ungrateful task to fill the humongous shoes of the car that has become a legend in an incredibly short time. The M version of the previous 1 serie came at the end of the lifecycle of the first 'Einser'. Even though the production was originally limited to 2700 they produced 6309 cars between 2010 and 2012 thanks to the high demand. It shows that there is a lot of love for this little car because the second hand models are usually higher priced than the at the time more expensive M3's.
The M2 has a lot to prove as successor of the 1M Coupe. To be prepared BMW is testing the prototypes heavily, like racing on the green hell and sliding in the cold snow of Scandinavia.
