Amazing car: Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada
Bizzarrini won’t sound very familiar for most of you spotters, but we immediately draw your attention when we tell you that this car designed by the same man who designed the Ferrari 250 GTO. This classic, an typical Italian beauty, was produced in the ‘60’s. There are not many copies of this car left, but the models in good condition immediately show the timeless design of Bizzarrini.
The Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada is from origin a cooperation between Giotto Bizzarrini and car manufacturer Iso. The model was called Grifo. Iso decided to stop the development of this model and Bizzarrini wanted to continue with this model. First this model was called Grifo but later the name was changed to 5300 GT Strada. You had enough power with a 5.3 liters V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette. As the name of the car says, this car is not a racer but a GT. It must be fantastic to just cruise around in this classic Italian. A race version of this car was built later on. This version got a V12 from Lamborghini. In 1969 Bizzarrini got some financial problems which eventually caused the company to go bankrupt. In the following years we have seen several concepts on exhibitions, but after 1969 we haven’t seen any official model from Bizzarrini again. That is a shame, because it is a company with a lot of history!
