Spot of the day: two times a Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG W212

If you want to distinguish yourself nowadays when it comes to transportation, you have to come up with something special. This can be a big BMW 7-series, Audi A8 or an S-class from Mercedes-Benz but the specialist will go for something that is not as noticeable for common people. Only some of us will recognize the Mercedes-Benz E-class AMG when it passes by. In Germany the new E-class drives around as a taxi, but the AMG-version is obviously much more fun to drive. Today we have two of them standing next to each other!

Now it is time to scrutinize the ten most interesting spots from Germany during 2009. During almost every weekend, there are at least a few topspots from Germany in our daily update. Mostly either from a couple of Dutch spotters who travel to the Kö in Düsseldorf for a day, or from one of the German frequent visitors of Autogespot from cities including Hamburg, Frankfurt and Berlin.

Spot of the day: a summer combo

Today it happened again. If you thought the snow would be over you were wrong. It started to snow again, this morning. By now you have seen all the snow and have enough of it. We also have enough of the winter. We hope summer comes quickly and that all the exotics, after a long hibernation, will leave their garages and get on the road. To get in the mood today we show you a spot of the day with some pictures of last summer.

Spotted in Hamburg: Porsche 997 GT3

Some of us are lucky enough to be able to drive a Porsche every day. Others may be happy if they own a Mitsubishi Carisma. Difference is inevitable. The same applies to Hamburg where spotter ExoticsOnRoad came across a Porsche 997 GT3 which looks quite cool. The owner possessed a Porsche before, which looked a lot like his newest acquisition, the GT3.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Spider spotted in Belgium

Spotter Wimster has spotted the first for our southern neighbours! Just before he drove in the direction of a petrol station, he experienced a special moment. Wimster suddenly saw a trailer in front of him with quite a special car on it. For once no Ford Ka, Audi 80 or Opel Corsa but a very special Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Spider! This car is now registered in Italy but how long will that last? There’s quite a chance that this is the first one for Belgium. In Holland, we welcomed the open edition of the 8C Competizione already a while ago, but now the first one has arrived in Belgium as well!

2009: ten topspots from the USA

When Autogespot was founded, most of the spots originated from the Netherlands. A while after, spotting in Belgium commenced and once in a while, spots from the rest of Europe were uploaded onto the website. And right now, over five years later, we offer spots from all over the globe, including the United Stated of America. The country of huge cities like New York and Los Angeles, but also the country of Coca-Cola, fastfood and president Obama. Amongst the spots from the USA are a few very special cars. We have selected ten of the most interesting. For example a stretched Maserati Quattroporte and a Pagani Zonda Mule.

Lotus Exige S1: street-legal racecar for true drivers

Obviously, there is the Lotus 340R, a fantastic car for the track but not suited when the weather is not as good as always, rain is pouring down and the clouds are getting darker and darker. That is why at the end of the nineties, Lotus developed a car that was supposed to be revealed at the beginning of 2000. The car would look a lot like the Sport Elise/Motor Racing race car and it would be suited for the entire year due to its solid roof, so also for that one trackday.

Photoshoot: Maserati GranSport

The days of Christmas and new-year have passed already, and it seems like the cold will last for a few more weeks. Some of you might have gotten your ice-skates from the closet, but the ice isn’t near thick enough. The one is eager to go out onto the ice, while another one might be waiting for the temperatures to finally rise. So it seems like everyone is waiting for something, so this is probably a nice moment to pull you out of the boredom and please you with a photoshoot of a magnificent Maserati GranSport, which was made on a lovely sunny day in 2009.

Spot of the day: Corvette C6 Z06 Lingenfelter

A Corvette is a very good option for people who are looking for a new sportscar. And then we mean a sportscar with loads of power, but cheaper than a Ferrari and Lamborghini. A sportscar with fierce American looks and a rich past. You can buy a corvette for less than half of the price of a Ferrari F430 or Lamborghini Gallardo. Today we see a Corvette C6 Z06 as the spot of the day. This particular one is far from original, for it is tuned by tuner Lingenfelter.

Spot of the day: combo in Berlin!

It has been a few days since we had a combo as the spot of the day. Therefore we thought it would be fun to choose the spot of the day for its quantity when it comes to exotics. Many exotics in a bunch instead of one single beautiful Lamborghini or Ferrari. It has also been a while since we went to Berlin -virtually- for the spot of the day. Today we don’t just see a matte black Audi R8 V10, but also a few other nice cars.

The king of Spain loves fast toys.

Juan Carlos I, the King of Spain is a big car enthusiast. With the 71 cars he possesses, he could be called a great car owner without a doubt. He can now add a Audi RS6 Sedan to that enormous amount, next to a 1959 Rolls Royce Phantom IV and a Maybach.
