Spyshots: new Mercedes-Benz R-class
The Mercedes-Benz R-class has never been the success model that Mercedes hoped that it would be. You almost never see the 63 AMG version, they didn’t produce that many numbers of this powerful car. To raise the sale of this model Mercedes decided to facelift the R-class. This probably means a lot of testing, which means that we can expect some spy shots of this car.
Mercedes actually planned the new version for 2013, but these pictures show some minor changes. So this probably won’t be the new model, but a facelift, just to try and make the R a bit more popular. The facelifted R will probably get some features of the “new Benz family”.
We don’t know anything about performance or engine size, it’s likely that they will also build an environmental friendly version. We will just have to wait and see for any official information.
