Spyshots: Jaguar XJ

The Jaguar XJ is on the market for quite some time now. A while ago this British car got a facelift, but right now the Brits are testing the successor of the XJ thoroughly. This black, covered in tape, car was spotted by the Autogespot crew just when it entered the Ring.

It isn’t a real surprise that Jaguar is building a successor for the XJ. Last year the XJ got a facelift and a lot of times, carmanufacturers start working on the successor not long after they introduced the facelift. We know now that this is also how Jaguar works. We can’t tell you anything about this new XJ, this is one of the first times this new Jag is spotted on the Ring. On the pictures you can clearly see that this is a mule of the new XJ, you might say that it looks a lot like the “old” XJ. You can clearly spot some larger cooling gaps on the front and a new fatter set of bumpers, this is safer for pedestrians when they are hit by this cars. You can also spot some wider wheel arches, so it’s likely that the XJ will be longer as well as wider. This new XJ should be in the showroom around 2011 but we expect a concept next year. We can’t wait.
