AMG next to turn to diesel engines

Diesel power! A while ago we’ve showed the Audi R8 V12 TDI. At the Detroit Motorshow Ferrari presented the Biofuel F430 conceptcar. According to AutoExpress the next in line is Mercedes!

The powerful V8 diesel engine will probably be used in models that will produce over 700 Nm torque. This engine will likely be much more economical, especially over long distances, than the petrol version of AMG.

A while ago AMG has stated that they won’t be joining the battle for horsepower between Mercedes, Audi and BMW anymore. AMG is going to concentrate on improving the driving characteristics and the quality of their products. Don’t think this diesel will be slow, diesel engines are able to reach a lot of horsepower. Just think about the V12 TDI of Audi, this engine will reach over 500 bhp! The only thing we can do is wait, we might see a lot of photo’s like the picture below.
