Check my front: Big racks

Cars with big mouths, or large grilles in cars. This is a huge trend in the automotive industry. Just think about almost all of the new models of Peugeot. This trend is not only seen on affordable models, on a lot of exotic cars you also see large grilles. If a manufacturer won’t supply you with one, just have to drive it to a tuner who will provide you with one. Here's a list of some exotic cars with huge mouths.

AC
To start this list we take an old car. The AC Cobra is a true classic, built from 1962. A car that is still being built, the production rate is very low. Most Cobras you’ll see driving around these days are replicas. On Autogespot you can find a few original Cobras. A car that can be recognised by its huge oval grill and the use of a lot of chrome.

Aston Martin
At Aston Martin they usually use large distinctive front ends. An Aston Martin can almost always be recognised by its grille. Tuners like Zagato and Mansory don’t really like the normal grille of an Aston and modify it slightly. So they won’t just provide you with extra power but also give the car a different grille.

Hummer
The next in this list is a huge SUV to drive around luxury shopping streets, can’t be anything else than the Hummer. The normal grille of the Hummer H2 looks a bit modest. This is why tuner Geiger modified the H2 slightly, just to make it stand out a little more in everyday traffic.

Lamborghini
Next brand is Lamborghini and we keep talking SUV. You might think: “Lamborghini? and SUV, don’t they just build sportscars?” Just to inform you, Lamborghini was the first to built a super-SUV, the LM002. It’s more likely that you’ll run into a sportscar by Lamborghini than that you see a LM002. They’ve only built 300 pieces of this model, between 1986 and 1992. It has, at least for a SUV a truly impressive front.

Maserati
The next car we’ve listed is a relative newcommer in the car industry. We are talking about the Maserati GranTurismo. This new baby from Italy can only be bought for a couple of months but seems very popular, also by carspotters. You can easily recognize this GranTurismo by its grille that looks like the mouth of a shark. It looks totally different than his older brother, the 4200GT which look much more civilized. The GranTurismo looks truly impressive.

Maybach
This is a car, opposite to the Maserati, that you won’t be seeing a lot on the public roads. The Maybach Exelero is a conceptcar, specially developed to test high speed tires for familycars. Despite this being a concept it has been spotted on the public roads. Where else than in Monaco. This car has got a really impressive mouth. If you see this in your rear mirror you’ll probably want to get out of the way quickly.

Mercedes
From this brand we are going to list three types of cars, the by ASMA tuned CLS, the CLK DTM powered by AMG and the G V12 by Brabus Three totally different cars. At ASMA they probably thought that the CLS looked a bit boring, so they changed the looks, and name into ASMA Shark II. A car with a huge grille, only centimetres above the road. An impressive car to run into, it’ll be hard to miss if he drives by. Another car that is hard not to see is the CLK DTM AMG. From this special edition they’ve only built 100 pieces. The normal AMG has already an impressive grille, but the DTM version looks even more aggressive. To finish this Mercedes bit we come to the Brabus G. The normal G-class has already a distinct appearance. You could say it looks like a huge box on wheels. Still they sell quite a lot of these cars. Brabus thought the usual V8 with compressor was not enough for this car. So they’ve fitted, in the city of Bottrop, a fat ass V12, an engine that can also be found in the S600. Ofcourse they’ve also modified this engine, so it’ll produce a nice 610 bhp. One thing that couldn’t be forgotten was the grille, which has been enlarged to give this car a much more aggressive appearance.

Rinspeed
Rinspeed is a small Swiss car-manufacturer that transforms cars into something completely different. They’ve come up with the strangest creations. Compared to some of these creations the Chopster isn’t that bad. The Rinspeed Chopster used to be a Cayenne. The roof has been lowered, the rear has totally been changed and ofcourse, this is what it’s all about this series. Rinspeed changed the front. The grille looks like the mouth of a shark, just like theGranTurismo. If so, it will be a fast shark with over 600 bhp.

Porsche
After the Chopster, we now introduce two other tuned Porsches. The Cayenne Gemballa GT and the Cayenne Techart Magnum, these are both head turning cars. If you drive one you’ll probably be fast too, both cars have plenty of power! Both Gemballa and Techart are known to tune Porsches. You’ll especially see them in Eastern Europe and the Middel East. Besides giving the cars extra power they also add an impressive, aggressive bodykit. Really cars with big mouths.

Rolls Royce
Rolls Royce, a very wel-known brand, almost everybody has heard of it. If you ask someone to describe a Rolls its likely they tell you about the large grill. A distinctive feature of any Rolls Royce. But the thing BMW is doing right know is something that Rolls hasn’t done in its 100 years of existence. BMW made a drawing of the Phantom with a huge grille, it looks a bit like a radiator. Impressive and huge, two words that match the Phantom and its grille perfectly.

Spyker
We conclude this series with a car from the Netherlands, the Spyker. A Spyker is a true head turner. When you see one passing by almost everybody turns and looks at this awesome car. You might want to know what a Spyker is doing in a series about large grilles. The only Spyker with a large grille is the D12 SSUV. A car that hasn’t been produced yet. Despite this one spotter has been lucky enough to spot one, probably whilst being transported to a car show. The D12 SSUV is a car with a huge mouth. We can’t wait until the production of this car starts!
