Lotus Esprit Twin-Turbo spypics

Our friends from the Dutch frontpage already showed you spyshots of the new Lotus Esprit last year but now Autocar has news as well. It's definately time for a new Esprit-ish car. The first Esprit joined the world of cars in 1976.

Autocar got us some nice spyshots of the new Lotus Esprit mule while testing up north in Sweden. Lotus specialists expect to see the new car for the first time in 2010, this means we still have to wait for about two years. There is no reason for sadness though, Lotus has announced they will introduce the Eagle this year on the London Motor Show. Sources say the new Esprit will be competition for the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo. Let's wait and see. Photographers probably noticed the car has grown in length so this means it will get a big ass engine. Worldcarfans speculated about a BMW engine and it's most likely going to be a 4.4 liter V8. You can already find this engine in the X6 and if we're not mistaken, some versions of the new X5.
