Two special cars are spotted lately. The Mazda Furai and the Maybach 62 S Landaulet. We will start with the Furai, this means something like “sound of the wind”, this super rare car was spotted in the Netherlands! Spotter Tommeke saw this race car at Go-Kart centre “de Fabrique” in Maarssen. Over there a photographer was working on a professional shoot for a French car magazine.
This Mazda will produce 450 bhp out of a rotary engine. Because of this power this car is able to reach a topspeed of 290 km/h. Some feature of this car you’ll have to notice instantly. This must be the extreme shape, matte black paint with red and orange details. Due to the use of carbon fibre this car is extremely light weight. The most extreme part about this car must be the rotary engine, this can run on both petrol and ethanol, so this is also an environmental friendly car. The Mazda Furai is based on the Courage C65 a car that is known in the American Le Mans Series, the C65 appeared in two seasons of this series. Some workers from Mazda produced the Furai to close the gap between race cars en street legal cars. The Furai looks a lot more like a race car than a car you would drive on the open road. A true superspot!
Now it’s time for the second spot, a car that will set you back about 1.4 million euros in the Netherlands. The Maybach 62S Landaulet was spotted in Cannes, south France, during the Cannes Film festival. This Maybach is probably a demo car, just look at the licence plate. Maybach will produce a total of twenty Landaulets, we can probably spot two of these cars in the Netherlands.
Technically the Maybach 62S Landaulet is a copy of the 62S. So you’ll find a massive V12 with biturbo in this car, the same engine can be found in the S65 AMG and some other AMG-models. This results in 612 bhp and 1000 Nm of torque! What a nice spot, we can’t wait to spot the first on in the Netherlands!
