Spot of the day: Koenigsegg CCXR

Once in a while, we see a really exclusive car on Autogespot. Not the kind of ‘special’ like a Ferrari F430 and not even a Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren. No, we’re talking about cars like a Koenigsegg. This Swedish manufacturer only produces a few cars per year and just because of the very limited production, these cars are very exclusive. This particularly unique Koenigsegg was built according to a special order by a petrolhead from Doha. Earlier, three of his toys were spotted in Europe and this time his Koenigsegg appeared on the other side of the globe.

Each time a Koenigsegg is uploaded is already special. In this case, it is in fact even more special. In Qatar, the special Koenigsegg CCXR was spotted. Besides that, this CCXR is coloured in an even more interesting color; blue! This was a special request from the owner. It is a unique color, in which two of his other cars, a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano and a Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 are colored as well. The interior looks at least as special as the exterior, by using the same color. One of the pictures shows the text ‘Al-thani’, which is the name of the royal family of Qatar. Apparently, driving around in highly exclusive cars is must for the ‘royals’, for the crown prince of Dubai owns a sum of extreme cars as well, including a SLR McLaren Mansory Renovatio.

Also, quite a lot of carbon fiber was used on this CCXR. Primarily in order to reduce the weight, but at the same time, it makes the Koenigsegg look even more fierce. Apart from the looks, the performance is far from ordinary as well: 1060 Nm of torque and even more power than the Bugatti Veyron, peaking at 1018 bhp. Nonetheless, it is not as fast as the Veyron, the top speed being 400 km/h. The CCXR accelerates to 100 km/h in 3,1 seconds. Again not as fast as the Veyron, but still extremely fast. This all makes the CCXR a real rival of the Veyron!
