Geneva 2010: Porsche 997 Turbo S

In Geneva we find the fastest and most powerful Porsche 911 Turbo ever, the 997 Turbo S. With a six cylinder engine which produces 530 bhp the Turbo S has 30 bhp more than a standard Turbo. The acceleration figures of this Porsche are impressive. Its faster than a Ferrari 458 Italia and the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640, in short, a fierce competitor for the established order of supercars.

The heart of the Porsche is the 3.8 liter six cylinder which is assisted by two turbo’s. Besides the amount of horses under the bonnet (530bhp) this Turbo S has an impressive 700 Nm of torque available. All this powered is transferred onto the road via all four wheels. Porsche is proud to announce that, in spite of the higher power output, the fuel consumption of the Turbo hasn’t increased in comparison to the normal 997 Turbo. The average fuel consumption is 11.4 liters of fuel every 100 kilometres.

The Turbo S also has the PDK-gearbox which releases the power via the Porsche Traction Management system. This means a perfect acceleration without the loss of power. The Turbo S gets the Sport Chrono Pack as standard which contains launch control. If you use this launch control you can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.3 seconds. Connoisseurs know that the Murciélago LP640 and the 458 Italia can do this exercise in 3.4 seconds. The top speed of the German is slightly lower than the Italian supercars mentioned, but no complaints from our side because it still reaches 315km/h.

Other options the car gets as standard are the carbon fiber brake disks, nineteen inch RS Spyder style rims with centerlock and a nice sports steering wheel with flappy paddles. Further we see the necessary comfort in the interior to make your life as a Turbo S owner as easy as possible.

The car will be available at the dealerships from May. The basic price, without local taxes, is €145.400,- for the Coupé and €154.900,- for the Cabriolet.
