The Japanese themselves call this their new supercar, but the specs reveal that this is another kind of supercar than we Europeans are used to call a supercar. This bizarre creation has been fitted with a 3.3 litre Toyota 3MZ-FE V6 engine which puts out around 230 BHP. It weighs 1580 kilograms, which doesn’t really make it a lightweight sportscar. 400 pieces of this two-seater will be produced in a time of 4 years. Prices start around 89.000 USD, which means 10.500.000 Yens in Japan.
Mitsuoka had already built the Orochi in 2001, but they kept it as a concept-car at the time. It was revealed on the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show. This model is based on a Honda NSX and finally found its way to production in 2006. Other than the Orochi, Mitsuoka has also built a car named Kabuto.
