Tuning Topspots

Here they are again! Most of the supercars that have been rebuilt by tuners. Tuning for the rich is quite a bit different than a do-it-yourself person who bolts a bodykit to his VW during the weekend. It's time for the real stuff, hundreds of horses, carbon fiber parts and not to forget, the very expensive rims. It's time for a new series of topspots!

Alpina B6

We start off with three of the more common cars that we can find in the topspots series. You would almost start to think that Alpinas aren't that special anymore. They still are because the manufacturer makes only a few hundred of these cars a year. The B5 is the "least" exclusive so we will leave that one out for a bit. The B6, based on the 6-series, is quite a bit more exclusive. This car is available as B6 and as B6-S, the more sporty version. There's been a few of these that have been spotted in Berlin, Kiev and also one in The Netherlands namely, in Roermond. Alpinas have quite a few details that make them noticeable. We're talking about the distinctive stripes on the side, de magnificent multi-spoke rims and the small bodykit that makes the design just a bit more classical. The manufacturer has been rebuilding thse BMW's for years on end in the same style which turns out to be a success. Nothing less than praise for Alpina who keeps treating the car world to these magnificent tuned BMWs.

Aston Martin Mansory DB9 Volante

Tuning is exceptionally popular in eastern Europe. Especially the younger generations of rich people enjoy the numerous companies that rebuild an exclusive car in their own particular way. Mansory is known for tuning Bentley and Aston Martin. The German tuner must do good business in the Ukraine because there have been a few spots from that area like the two DB9s that were spotted in Donetsk and Kiev. Mansory Doesn't have a package for the DB9 that gives the owner more power and torque. They specifically do exterior modifications on this English sports car. The DB9 is lowered a few centimeters and the front and the rear bumpers have been replaced. The round exhaust pipes of the Aston Martin have also been replaced by rectangular, louder ones. As a client you can design the interior any way that you want it. Think of yellow upholstery and other eccentric colours. The final picture does suit the chic open grand tourer. Mansory makes a car that is a bit more refined for the modern man who isn't in the mood for a boastful italian car.

Aston Martin Mansory Vanquish

We will most likely see a lot of amazing Mansorys on Autogespot in the next few years. This example of an outstanding car will be hard to exceed. The Vanquish S is already brutal power itself but Mansory knows how to turn it into a more impressive vehicle by applying that final touch. The main thing is the snow white color with the dull black stripe down the entire car. This right away adds a more aggresive look to this English Beast. The grill has been extended vertically and the fog lights have been finished off with little spoilers. Power wise you won't need any more since this car has 520 bhp stock. What makes this car so special is all of the components combined because definitely not all combinations fit like this Mansory Vanquish. Don't mess with exotics might be a saying, this car that has been spotted in Cannes might be the one of the most jaw-dropping cars on Autogespot. It's exclusive, fast and again, looks amazingly spectacular!

Bentley Mansory GT63

On Autogespot we also have to be a bit more selective with spots. In the first series of topspots you could always see all the spotted Mansorys. For the Bentleys we'll take the two top of the line Mansorys. The most top of the line Continental GT is this GT63. The letters 63 point to the amount of horses in this beauty, 630bhp. This will be enough to stay in front of most sports cars! You do not buy a Mansory just for the power. the exterior is just as important. This Mansory has been spotted in Miami and hasn't been fitted with the tuners rims but instead rolls on a set of Giovannis. These modifications were probably not cheap but seen on a regular basis around Miami. Letting your Bentley visit Mansory is an ideal way to distinguish it from the rest because that's what it's all about. This Bentley has been modified with a lot of taste, excluding the ugly GT badge on the back that they should've left off in the first place.

Bentley LEMANSory

Why is the GT63 not the most brutal Bentley modified by Mansory? Simple, there have been 24 of these that were built as LE Mansory. This is the most spectacular Bentley that the Germans have showed us until this day. The car is most recogniseble by looking at the styling and the bodykit. This is also the most powerful Bentley. You could definitely compare this Bentley to the Bentley Continental Supersports which also has 650bhp. With this amount of power this two thousand kilo weighing monster reaches the 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The topspeed of 330 km/h is even more bizarre. That is just as fast as super sports cars like the SLR McLaren and the Porsche Carrera GT. Six of these have been spotted including this one, the third in London!

Bentley Wald Continental GT Black Bison Edition

Japanese tuners especially like a lot of overdone exterior modifications. Wald International doesn't really focus on this way of tuning. They've been working hard on tuning internally. Luxurious brands like Mercedes, Lexus and also Bentley have been the center of attention. In 2008 they introduced a bodykit for the Bentley Continental GT and before we knew it, it had been spotted and uploaded to Autogespot. This exceptional Bentley was also spotted in the superspot city London. The bodykit costs quite a bit of money, € 12,500.00. They've kept the 560 bhp engine stock. The owner of this GT has also bought a set of Giovannis. An amazing and refreshing combination between all the basic Bentleys in London!

BMW Hamann X5 E70

I've left most of the SUVs alone while writing this series of topspots. Simply because they are not interesting enough. Only the most extraordinary ones are worthy of a place in these series. Take the X5 in a special colour. This was one of the first Arabs that could be found in London this year. It is right away one of the most special versions of them all. It is mainly the combination of the bodykit and the colours that make it such an amazing vehicle.

BMW Hamann M6 E 63 Widebody Coupé

Hamann doesn't only go wild on the most exclusive cars in this world. Every BMW gets their own turn. The BMW M6 was also modified in 2006. You really have to be a fan of these cars from Hamann if you want to order one. They are known for doing everything possible to their cars. This Hamann M6 was spotted in Zürich and has been fitted with every possible part that Hamann has to offer. Rims, bumpers, etc. etc. The V10 has also been spiced up resulting in 567 horses under the hood. This really is an example of “love it or hate it”.

BMW Lumma CLR X650

The BMW X6 has only been available in The Netherlands since may of 2008. Regardless of this there have been a lot of tuners that have thoroughly studied this car and eventually started modifying it. Lumma is one of the first and they changed this thing into the Lumma CLR X650. The "Tuning Package" consists of only cosmetic changes that are supposed to enhance the overall look. The engine doesnt need to be spiced up since the stock X6 has more than enough power. The main point is to fill up the wheel arches with special rims. This example of the X6 doesn't really have rims that fit with the rest of the car. But oh well, the overall look does get better. This car is not a vehicle that you can give your opinion about without having seen it closely in real life.

Getunede Ferrari's

For the first time we can say that we've included every single tuned 599 in this issue of topspots. The only Tuner, modifier, that has been left out is Kahn. Every other 599 has been mentioned. The nice part is that you can now see the difference between all of these tuners. Mansory is by far the most bizarre manufacturer in the modification of this Italian sports car. Novitec Rosso and EDO Competion are a lot more subtle and Hamann fits right inbetween. We're talking about the horsepower. Hamann gives the 599 53 bhp extra, Novitec Rosso pumps the power up to an extreme 808 bhp. EDO Competition has 750 if that is needed! To close it off we have the most tuned 599 of the entire selection, the Mansory. You probably right away notice that this is the most bizarre looking 599. The German tuner put a whole new bodykit on this car, and of course they also changed the rims and the exhaust system. In the interior there is the option of changing the leather. The Mansory is top of the line when looking at the tuned Ferraris. This is due to the amazing amount of changes, decadent, but very nice.

We'll keep going with Ferrari's biggest rival in Italy, Lamborghini. The brand that wears a wild bull as a logo. If you think about it it's a madman's idea to modify the crazy Lambos. But on the other hand, why wouldn't you?

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Affolter

The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder in this issue is the most "modestly" tuned. The only thing that a connoisseur might notice is the distinct striping and the outstanding spoiler on the back. Something that you wont notice is the scissor doors on this bull. If the car's engine is also modified remains a mystery. As I said before, this is a subtle but nice way to personalize your Lamborghini. The spoiler adds a bit of sportiness and the dark rims combine perfectly with the blacked out rear lights.

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Edo Competition

Amazingly Surprised. That's the effect that this car had when we saw it for the first time on Autogespot. Enschede might be a city from which we receive a lot of spots, but seeing a Superlegerra in this place was something we did not expect. Especially since this is a Superleggera that has been modified by Edo Competition! There have been only 171 of these produced, some of which made a trip to EDO. The exterior of the car remains the same as a stock Superleggera. The only thing that makes it stand out is the combination of normal glossy paint and matte paint. It gives the car a meaner look since matte is the thing nowadays! The most important difference of the EDO modified Lamborghini is the power source. This has increased with 30 horses putting the total at 560bhp. This does have a positive influence on the performance of this vehicle. This car needs less than four seconds to get to the 100 km/h and doesn't stop till it reaches 320 km/h on the speedometer.

Lamborghini Affolter Diablo Evolution GT1 Roadster

This next Lamborghini is even more intense. This is another bull that has been modified by tuner Affolter, it's just a bit less modest. The Affolter Diablo Evolution GT1 Roadster has been spotted once on Autogespot(https://www.autogespot.com/zoeken/item/1468/gespot-affolter-diablo-evolution-gt1/) before and that has been more than a year ago. It has been a lot of work to get this car to its current state. Roland Affolter has completely redesigned this car. The car has been widened seven inches at the front and eleven at the back to create some room for the new bodykit. This bodykit consists of a new front bumper, hood and ofcourse a lot of other cosmetic changes. Beneath the body, the mighty Italian V12 has not been left alone. The car has 630 to 650bhp depending on the amount of turbos. The amount of GT1 roadsters that have been produced in 1997 and 1998 can be counted on 2 hands.

Lamborghini Murciélago Prindiville Prestige

All of a sudden, out of the blue, we received some news that a Lamborghini Murciélago had been modified by a small company in England that goes by the name of Prindiville(https://www.autogespot.com/zoeken/item/3501/lamborghini-murcielago-by-prindiville/). Suddenly they were here. This company is known as a specialist and gets really deep into personalisation. During the Top Marques Monaco(https://www.autogespot.com/zoeken/item/3826/top-marques-2009-lamborghini-murcielago-door-prindiville-prestige/) we spoke with the owner of Prindiville. It's hard to give your opinion by looking at the pictures. In “real life” the Prindiville Murciélago is quite a good looking car. The details sure got a lot of attention and the people that work there are very passionate about their product which is something a car enthousiast appreciates. Most likely the English stayed in Monaco for quite a while since the car was spotted again after the Top Marques. When will the next car be presented? We have no idea! Prindiville does have a lot of ambition to grow, one of the reasons that they were able to get their hands on a booth at the most exclusive car fair in the world.

Lamborghini Murciélago Le Mans Edition

Let's take a look at the last Lamborghini in this issue op topspots. We're talking about a Lamborghini by ItalCarDesign. This tuner focusses primarily on the cosmetic side of things, even though a power package resulting in 615 bhp is also an option. The most outstanding details are definitely the custom rims, striping and the huge rear spoiler. It makes the car just that bit more mean looking. Just like the first Lamborghini in this series, the Gallardo Spider.

Mercedes SL FAB Design

FAB Design is a tuner situated in Switzerland. They have been making huge bodykits for Mercedes for many years now. This is the new Mercedes SL that has been transformed by this specialist. This is the first new SL that has been fitted with this bodykit. FAB Design goes really far with the tuning of these german cars. Everything stands out and this car looks more like a nightmare than an exotic. The best leathers are used to make the interior look even more exclusive. This car has a modest colour, while most of these have been painted in a bright colour. Also beneath the hood there have been made some changes because the V12 Biturbo now peaks at 650bhp. Even more bizarre is the amount of newtonmeters, namely 1120.

Maybach FAB Design 57 S

FAB Design has also taken one of the most luxurious vehicles in this world, the Maybach. Using the basic 57S the specialists have rebuilt this car from a stylish limousine to a mean looking ride. To start off with they widened the car thirty centimeters and fitted it with huge twenty inch rims that fill the wheel wells. The next step was to add an outstanding colour, one of FAB's main trademarks. It's a combination of normal paint and matte paint. The blue color of the Maybach that has been spotted in Genève can also be found in the interior. Amazingly decadent and not meant for everyone. For the clients that complain about the power FAB also has a power package that changes the engine of the 57S to 650bhp instead of 612bhp. That's enough power to reach a topspeed of 300 km/h. FAB Design is going to produce 15 of these that will sell for the price of around € 700,000.

Mercedes FAB Design SLR Desire

The last FAB is the most exclusive that we have seen. We are talking about a SLR McLaren. This is not the first supercar that comes to mind when you think of tuning. Nonetheless the FAB people could not keep their hands off of this monster. This is most likely one of the most exclusive spots of the year! The thing that you notice first is the huge front bumper. The car looks so much more aggressive than the stock SLR due to the wide bodykit. Not everyone will appreciate FAB's creations because they take tuning to the edge. There was also a "Desire" next to the booth of FAB in Genève. This car also had a huge spoiler on the back. If you ask me they can take off the spoiler because it doesn't really complement the overall look of the car. This design really is a “hate or love it” design, daring, something that can be appreciated.

Mercedes Carlsson SL CK63 RS

If you are planning to spend a bit under three hundred grand for a sportscar you'll probably have high expectations. Carlsson's SL CK63 RS is not really something that would be called cheap. What do you get for 275,000 euros? Well first of all the power of this extremely modified SL. This has increased to 600 bhp, an increase of 75 horses. The torque has also increased 75nm resulting in 705 newtonmeters. It's quite obvious that the car has increased in performance. It should be able to reach the 100 km/h in roughly four seconds. The exterior is a bit more aggressive due to the use of wire gauze. The beautiful rims and custom exhaust system that produces an amazing sound are fitted. The interior is filled with leather and alcantara. Luzern, Switserland was the first place that this car was spotted for Autogespot.

Porsche Gemballa Avalanche GT2 600 EVO

Porsches will always be part of the tuning topspots. The first one is a 911 that has been rebuilt by Gemballa. The number 600 refers to the amount of horses that the flat-six produces. Enough to take this car to a top speed of 300 km/h. The Gemballas always look grandiloquent. A lot of spoilers and a lot of noise. This example of a Gemballa looks rather modest. There's a big spoiler on the back but Gemballa usually has bigger spoilers. These tuned cars are particularly wanted in the eastern part of Europe. The city Kharkov, where this car was spotted, is a city that has given us a lot of tuned car spots.

Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT

A lot more brutal is this next and last Gemballa on the list. The Mirage GT is one of Gemballa's most special creations. This car, spotted in Barcelona, was first owned by famous soccer player Eto'o who scraped together his millions at FC Barcelona. It's a really outstanding colour, mainly because it is so special. The differences between this and a Carrera GT are quite obvious. This car has a lot of cosmetic changes. The bodykit and spoiler have not been placed just for looks but actually help this car improve its performance. The sound of the Mirage GT is one of the best, rather terrifying. Gemballa introduced this special car in 2007. If you were interested at the time you'd have to put 230,000 euros on the table for the modifications. It seems that this car is now registered in Paris so maybe someone will spot it in this breathtaking city.

Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet TechArt

Monaco is the place to be when you're looking for unique exotics. This Porsche is one of them. This 911 Turbo has been fitted with Techart parts. The most special thing about this car is its scissor doors! You rarely see these kind of doors on a Porsche. The Russian owner put on quite a bit of kilometers if you look at the distance from Russia to Monaco. This car is quite fast with its stock 420 horses. To top it all of, you can parade around Monaco with the top down.

Porsche 9ff 997 Turbo Cabriolet

The last 911 in this issue is also the fastest Porsche in this list. According to the spotter this is a Turbo that, with the help of 9ff, puts 900 bhp on the road! That is a LOT of power! 9ff is specialized in making the 6 cylinders as powerful as possible. According to 9ff this beast is capable of almost hitting 400 km/h, those are insane numbers of course. The list of modifications is enormous. In the first place the engine capacity is drilled up to 4 liters. The next step is replacing most of the parts for custom parts. They're either modified or replaced by lighter and better parts. You can find the complete list of parts here. The final result is not visible to a car newbie, which makes it all the more sensational! This is a real topspot and also one of the most exclusive cars that has been spotted in Marbella.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Kahn Pearl White

We've arrived at the last spot of this series. You've seen enough bodykits, spoilers, exhausts and custom rims. This Phantom Kahn evens it all out. Kahn shows us that tuning can also be done in a different way. The coachbuild company situated in Bradford changes only two things. The rims and the colour. Not more, not less. This is a stylish addition to the beautiful Phantom. The Pearl White paint job looks extremely exclusive together with the 22 inch Kahn Silver Mist Rolls Royce rims. It makes the car look more stylish and sporty at the same time. A really beautiful spot in the always rainy London.
