Event: Le Mans Classic part three
On the weekend of July 6th, the ‘second’ 24 Hours of Le Mans was organized: Le Mans Classic. For the sixth time the visitors made a time journey. After the record edition of 2010, the 2012-edition had more than 100.000 visitors in attendance. Along with many participants and fans, there were also around 170 car clubs at Le Mans. The largest of these clubs was the Porsche Club with around 1100 cars as the Germans are used to, sorted by type of car.
On Friday the event started with training and qualification laps On Saturday at half past four, the 24 hour race started in changing weather conditions. Next to the racing, a record amount of proceeds was reached at the auction of Artcurial. The highlight of this auction was one of the three Ferrari 275 GTC’s ever built. Next to this, there were eighteen (!) Ferrari’s 250 GTO’s, which drove around the track at another event organized by Moët et Chandon.
