First mule of the Rolls-Royce successor appears on the streets

It's already eleven years ago that Rolls-Royce started the production of the Phantom. While the competitors renewed their cars, Rolls-Royce managed to get the best out of the Phantom with only some minor changes. Slowly but surely Rolls-Royce is working on a successor, but we don't know when they will officially introduce this car. At least we do know that Rolls-Royce started the testing of this model.

As long as the Phantom keeps on selling, the car will be in production. It's even possible that this model will be produced for a period of up to fifteen years. This is an extremely long lifetime for a car. We still don't know that much of the successor.

Rumors are spread about a revolutionary design with more charism and sharper lines. Of course, the car will be powered by a V12 in the front but the engine will probably be fitted with a hybrid plug-in system. From the photo of the interior we can see that Rolls-Royce will also change the interior. The Rolls-Royce will share technology with the new 7 Series by BMW. By using new and lightweight materials, the Phantom should lose up to 200 kilograms. The design of the Phantom is already finished but Rolls-Royce probably won't introduce the Phantom before 2016.
