Yesterday Ford confirms a completely new Ford Focus RS, the ultimate 'performance' version of the 'world's best selling car'. Ford also announces that the new RS will be available worldwide, a scoop for the RS model.
Ford also announced the founding of a new team that will focus on the development and supply of Ford 'performance' cars. The Ford Performance Team will be formed out of the performance vehicle development groups all over the world, including Team RS in Europe and the Special Vehicle Team (SVT) in North America. This new team will develop more performance products, components and accessoires.
The Focus RS will probably be powered by a 2.3 liter four-cylinder engine which also powers the Ford Mustang. The engine should produce around 330 hp and there's a big chance that the new Focus RS will also have front-wheel drive but maybe Ford will come up with something new and equip the Focus RS with four-wheel drive.
