Geneva 2014: Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG

A car which was soon forgotten after its introduction is the Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG. The first models arrived at their rightful owners but are not spotted yet and without a legit reason, this model doesn’t have the same status as the rebellious S 63 AMG. Mercedes-Benz brought this model to Geneva because a little more attention won’t harm this model.

Those who thought Mercedes-Benz didn’t touch the V12 biturbo are wrong. The engine was redeveloped and boosted to be even more powerful than the previous S 65 AMG. 612 hp was boosted to 630 hp, the torque of the car is still the same, limited at 1.000 Nm. Thanks to a lightweight body and a refreshed engine, the fuel consumption of the car decreased and the car also became faster. You now sprint to 100 kph in 4.3 seconds and that’s 0.1 seconds faster than before.

On the outside, the S 65 AMG can be recognized next to a S 63 AMG thanks to the addition of some more chrome. When you see a very fast limousine passing by and you’re blinded by the reflecting sunlight you’re probably dealing with the S 65 AMG. Next to that, the two attached exhausts on both sides of the diffuser and the deep rumble – not a roar – show you that you’re dealing with the V12 version.
