Geneva 2015: Rolls-Royce Bespoke Serenity

Rolls-Royce presents a one-off in built by the famous Bespoke department at the Geneva Motor Show. For the development of the Serenity, Rolls-Royce jumped back in the history of silk to build the ultimate Phantom where personalization is a very important theme.

The Serenitiy is again a benchmark when we’re talking about luxury. There’s no other car manufacturer that can build a luxurious limousine like Rolls-Royce. Silk is used for years and is a definition of luxury. The Bespoke Design team was inspired by the Rolls-Royces that were built for emperors, rulers and other world leaders in the past 100 years. Combine the history of silk with the close connection that Rolls-Royce has with the Japanese history and the result is the Serenity.

To build the Serenity, the Bespoke team traveled to Japan to jump into the history of silk. The blossom tree is very popular in Japanese motives with silk and that’s also shown with this Phantom. For the imperial embroidery the best company in the Chinese city of Suzhou was chosen. The compartment in the back is a beautiful place to enjoy the world of luxury around you. The peace and silence in the back will remind you of an Eastern tradition where emperors used the silence in their gardens to settle down near their blossom trees. A lot of the details are handmade and would take up 600 hours of work per panel. The exterior has a one-off pearl paint which is coated in three stages. It’s the most expensive paint ever on a Rolls-Royce. A beautiful handmade coach line completes the exterior of this beautiful Phantom.
