Gumball 3000 daily report: the trip to New York

We were stressed when we heard the news on Monday morning. A serious accident happened and this caused a major traffic jam, just when we have to go the Schiphol. Luckily it wasn’t that bad and we were on time for our flight to New York.
Be present three hours before takeoff is still the advice. We still don’t know the reason for this, but that doesn’t matter. After a good flight we landed at New York John F. Kennedy airport at 14:50 local time. The shuttle was already waiting for us. We headed to the hotel to start the real countdown for the start of the journey from coast to coast!
The Caddilac Escalade which we rent would be brought at 18:00 local time. Due to traffic jams it was eventually around seven o’clock before the Escalade was parked in front of our hotel. The driver of the Escalade could not get used to the attention everyone gave this car. This makes sure even the Americans have never seen a wrap like this before.
After a small walk around the place where it will all start next Friday it was time to get some sleep and try to lose our jetlag.
