Regularly, we as the crew of Autogespot discuss if some Audi models like the S4 and S5 are exclusive enough for our website. Are the S5 and S6 exclusive enough to be added on Autogespot? And the other models, what about them? A model which belongs on Autogespot for sure is the Audi R8 GT Spyder. The R8 GT Spyder also is the subject in this article. In Vienna, the fourth unique copy is spotted.
The car is expensive. We're talking about 225.000 British pounds. That’s quite a lot for an Audi which looks very similar to its slower brothers, according to many people. Of course this is nonsense, because this is a real monster, and that’s very easy to see. Extra spoilers, carbon fiber accents, tough wheels, and nice round exhaust pipes. The convertible Spyder version is even more great to look at as its closed brother, the Audi R8 GT.
The power is also boosted, to a stunning 560 bhp. The standard R8 V8 only has 420 bhp, the R8 V10 525 bhp, and the GT of course even more. Also, the weight is dropped with 85 kilograms by use of lighter materials. This is about the engine but also about the interior and parts of the body. Without passengers, the R8 GT has got 2.93 bhp per kilogram. Extremely light! What does that mean actually? A top speed of more than 199 mph and 0-62 mph in less than 4 seconds. The chance to see a second copy is minimal, because only 333 copies are built by Audi.

What a lucky guys in Belgium. Loads of supercars are registered on license plates there, it looks like there is no crisis there. This Audi R8 GT Spyder, a really lovely car!
On the 3rd of June 2011, we received a press report about the Audi R8 GT Spyder. Since that time, we didn't hear many more about this German convertible, limited to 333 copies. Even the spotters don't see or spot it, only eight different copies are spotted. This makes it far more exclusive than...
It’s always great to read experiences from other spotters on Autogespot. Especially the younger spotters love to get a ride in a sports car or even a supercar. Spotter kasmac92 from Arizona managed to spot a beautiful limited Audi R8 GT Spyder. This resulted into a unforgettable experience.
Alpina Automobiles is a brand which is already for 40 years responsible for making a BMW more chic and sporty. With the typical styling a number of BMW’s is tuned every year. Nowadays Alpina is bigger than ever but this was totally different in the past years. Take the Alpina B12 5.7 Coupe for...
The Corvette C6 is a brutal car on itself. The exterior of the car is quite simple and American. If you like the driving of the car but you don’t like the looks, Geiger offers you a perfect solution.
Cruising on the highway, you decide to flat out. You drive way above 300 kph and you start to hear a strange sound followed by a bang. You lose control over the car and the wall next to the highway starts to come very close. A blowout at 300 kph isn't much luck but followed by a crash into a wall...
Idiots in traffic. You see them everywhere. Driving on the middle lane while the others are completely empty or just simply hit a red light. In Russia, it's even worse. Cutting you off, braking in front of you or just stop on the middle of the streets seems to be quite normal. The driver of the...
All over the world events are organized for those who own a special car. Down under, where supercars are quite rare, they also organize these events. Kuleo0z was present at the Antilag Racewars event on Wyalkatchem Airport, in western Australia. He made some pictures of some special cars which we...
If there’s one perfect place for spotting many Lamborghinis, then it must be Miami. Dozens of Lamborghinis can be found, and always there are some extraordinary copies, like this one. Despite we’ve seen more matte black Aventadors, it’s still very awesome to see, especially when it is captured...
After months of work by the Parker Brothers, they finally succeeded. The Tumbler is as good as ready and will be present at the start of the Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen. Next to the Tumbler, we will compete with the TG1 which is also almost ready. We want to keep this car a secret as long as...
