If everything goes right, Bentley's SUV will have its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The SUV is very important for Bentley. Not only do they create a new niche market but they will also introduce a new design style with the SUV.
Luc Donckerwolke, head design of Bentley, already shared some information about the new design style of Bentley at Pebble Beach. The next few years, Bentley will get a more muscular and sporty look. We can already see a bit of this new style with the new Bentley Continental GT. We expect that the next models will only look more muscular. Designer Donkerwolke loves sharp lines so that's something we will probably also see. Bentleys old style is 'sweet' and 'soft' while this new style has more volume and power. It's Donkerwolke's job to find a good balance between these two styles. The Brooklands and the new SUV will both get this new design style.
Especially the SUV needs a more powerful look. The new and strong growing markets like China, India and Russia love robust and powerful looking cars. That's less popular in the Western countries. Bentley now needs to find the perfect balance in the new design which will be accepted all over the world. Next year, the first chapter will open at the Geneva Motor Show!
