Geneva 2015: the new Audi R8

Audi presents the new Audi R8 at the Geneva Motor Show. The V10 mid-engine and a newly developed quattro system guarantee a big improvement of the performance of the second generation of this model.

A high-revving mid-engine, a lightweight body structure and an extremely dynamic chassis with quattroo and completely variable torque distribution; that are the highlights of the completely new Audi R8. The 5.2 FSI V10 mid-engine in the Audi R8 will be available in two versions: a 540 hp and an even stronger version of the Audi R8 V10 plus producing 610 hp. The maximum torque is available at 6.500 rpm. The strongest version of the Audi R8 sprints from zero to 100 kph in 3.2 kph and has a top speed of 330 kph. The sound of the atmospheric V10 is also improved. A sevenspeed S tronic gearbox and a newly developed quattroo system transfer the power and torque to the asphalt. In extreme cases, 100 percent of the traction can be send to the front or rear axle.

The exterior is completely new but has a very characterizing R8 design. The front looks more aggressive and the back is more flattened. In the interior we see a completely new digital dashboard. The interior is developed to give the driver the feeling that he’s driving a real racecar. That is done with nice buttons on the center console.
