Is Porsche working on an even more extreme 991 GT3 RS?

The GT3 RS is the most extreme model Porsche has in the order books for the 991-generation 911 to date. 'To date', because it looks like there's something even more crazy than the GT3 RS in the works! Proof: this camouflaged prototype that has been spotted while testing on public roads several days ago.

So a hardcore RS, who could believe it? On the other hand it's quite a logical step, generation-997 had the GT3 RS 4.0 after all. The prototype already looks really promising: we see an agressive front bumper with large intakes, center-lock wheels and the diffuser of the 911 R. There also seems to be another exhaust system fitted: the two exhausts in the center of the rear bumper have been ditched in favor of one (or two) exhausts on each side. Of course the extremely large rear wing is a true eye-catcher as well, but we already know it from the current GT3 RS.

Do we know a bit more about this over the top racing car for the public roads? Actually we don't, the car is still in its early stages of development and Porsche hasn't officially announced anything yet. We can always speculate though, it seems this prototype is the upcoming Porsche 991 GT3 RS 4.2. According to rumors this car will be powered by a 4,2-litre flat-six which is expected to produce over 500 hp. Next to this power bump Porsche will certainly take a look on how to shave even more weight from the already light GT3 RS. We are curious!
