McLaren F1 GTR Longtail is just unreal

Seeing a McLaren F1 is already an awesome experience, seeing a F1 GTR Longtail is just incredible. In Chertsey, a place of which we've never heard of before, this street legal race car was parked. Spotter TFJJ probably found his best spot ever with this F1 GTR Longtail and he has all the reason to be very pround on this spot.

The F1 GTR Longtail was designed for the 1997 FIA GT Championship to compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG and Porsche 996 GT1. To make the McLaren F1 ready for this championship they had to make some adjustments to the looks of the car to create more downforce. The carbon fiber monocoque which is the basis of the normal F1, is still intact but around this monocoque everything changed. The nose and tail ar elonger and a much wider spoiler created more downforce. The power of the engine was reduced, just like the engine capacity. The engine capacity of the V12 was reduced from 6.1 to 6.0 liter to meet the maximum power of 600 hp. The McLaren F1 is known for its high top speed but this GTR Longtail has a lower top speed. At the track of Le Mans the car reached a top speed of 317 kph. This is a result of the increased downforce which made the car way better in corners than the street legal version.

Three street legal versions of the race car were built, the F1 GT. The owner of this car did something different and made the real race car street legal. This makes sure that he will always get a lot of attention.
