Jaguar XJR Rapid Response Vehicle will debut at Goodwood

The Jaguar XJR Rapid Response Vehicle will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This Jaguar is developed by the Special Vehicle Operations and is a part of the Bloodhound SSC project that aims for breaking the world speed record on land. The special Jaguar XJR will participate in the famous hill climb at Goodwood on 27 June.

The Jaguar XJR has a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 and this makes it sprint from zero to 100 kph in 4.6 seconds. The top speed of the XJR is around 280 kph. To be used as Rapid Response Vehicle during the world speed record attempt the car needed to be modified. The car has a roll cage and special boxes for tools. The backseat is replaced for these boxes. To show the potential of the car, the XJR will participate in the hill climb during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car will be driven by Andy Green. Green is the current holder of the world speed record on land and he's also the driver of the Bloodhound SSC project.
