With the revealing of the headlights of the new R8, Audi introduces the first of a series technological features of this sports car. THe Audi R* will have standard LED headlights which can get the optional laser high-beam function.
The Audi R8 2015 sets new standard in the segment of the high-performance sports cars, including on the field of lighting. As an option the new sports car can be equipped with a laser high-beam light. Laser light for the high-beam was introduced in the summer of 2014 on the AUdi R8 LMX, a limited edition of the previous generation R8. Shortly before the technology was used in the winning Audi R18 e-tron quattro race car during the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
