According to rumors Maserati has given the green light for the arrival of a new 'Halo-Hypercar'. Everyone still has the Maserati MC12 in their memory, it is one of the most remarkable cars Maserati has ever made. The successor is to be developed in conjunction with Ferrari again. Exciting stuff!
Fortunately Maserati will not just produce SUV's and luxury limousines in a few years. Besides the 'halo car', the successor to the GranTurismo is also in the works under the name Alfieri. This is the Maserati for the mere mortals, because in order to get the most spectacular model you will have to have a great relationship with Maserati. According to our sources the hypercar will not arrive before 2017. The amount of cars that will be made is going to be around 25, just like with the MC12. With Ferrari as technical partner it's likely that a lot of components that go into this hypercar will be sourced from the LaFerrari. The most important aspect of the 'LaMaserati' however will be the exterior: we sincerely hope it looks as exotic as the MC12.
These hypercars, being sold for no less than two million euro's, are not always great investments but they remain populair under the one percenters. The order books for the Chiron are almost filled, Lamborghini's Centenario was sold out almost immediately and so on. It's likely then that Maserati will find enough clients that want to buy their latest hypercar.
