As they promised, McLaren finally shows their P1 GTR with which they will set up a unique driving program. The P1 GTR will never hit the streets and this makes the car more extreme than ever before. The McLaren Special Operations Center did everything they could to make the P1 GTR very extreme and with the ultimate racing experience. To creat this racing exeperience they used some technology from the Formula 1.
First of all they learned from the aerodynamics. It's improved compared with the standard P1 with solid wing, a bigger splitter and non adjustable driving height. Something which is completely logical because you won't find any speed bumps on the track. Next to that, the P1 has race slicks and a push-to-pass and DRS system. It will give the driver the feeling he's driving in Formula 1. The P1 GTR is an extra 8 centimeters wider which will result in a better handling! The engine got a small powerboost to 1000 hp. It's still unique that McLaren uses only one engine to power all their models.
The McLaren P1 GTR driving program will be very exclusive and intense. You'll get personal guidance with driving trainings but also mental and fitness traning. Next to that, you can train with the McLaren simulator. The training program will be completely personal and these training promises to use to full potential of the P1 GTR. The P1 GTR is now in the last testing phase and will meet the track next year.
