Victories in the past are a great reason to build a limited edition of a car. McLaren Special Operations shares that opinion and that's why they introduce a limited McLaren 650S which is inspired by the victory in the 24 hours of Le Mans, twenty years ago. This victory was achieved in a McLaren F1 GTR and we see some of these styling elements in this 650S.
At the roof we see an air intake like we know from the F1 GTR. We also see some air intakes on the fenders. Next to that, the car is painted in a special MSO colour and the car is fitted with special wheels, orange calipers, a carbon fiber splitter and an adjusted rear bumper with a matching diffuser.
Engine-wise McLaren didn't adjust the 650S, the V8 still produces 650 hp. That's more than enough to keep up with the competition. McLaren will build only 50 copies of this limited model and all of these 50 copies will be coupés.
