More details about the Ferrari 458 Monte Carlo

Last week, we had two spyshots of the Ferrari 458 Monte Carlo. Although the name Monte Carlo is probably only used as project name, we aren’t sure what the official name will be. We probably won’t know until September, when the car is previewed and the first news and specifications of the super sports car are known. This preview will probably take place in Hockenheim, Germany.

Today, we received another set of spyshots which show us some more details. The engine will probably be boosted to around 600 hp. Next to that, the weight will be reduced with about 150 kilograms. When we look at the pictures, we see a small spoiler on the back, like we know from the 430 Scuderia. In front of the rear wheels we see a differently shaped sideskirt which has to guide the air along the wheels. Standard, the Monte Carlo will have 20 or 21 inch wheels with new developed tyres by Michelin. The introduction of the 458 Monte Carlo will be around the same time that Michelin will come up with their Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2. The most outstanding detail is the hood. On the spyshots, it looks like the engine got an extra hole for cooling or something similar. We doubt that this will really stay this way with the production version because this will really reduce the room for your luggage!
