Mysterious Ferrari California T mule spotted

In Spain, a photographer of Diariomotor.com managed to make some photos of a mysterious Ferrari California T mule. There are several rumors going around about this model. Are we looking at a test mule of a cheaper Ferrari or is this a model to test a new engine? For now it's still a guess.

Ferrari is doing very well lately. They're doing this good that they decided to produce a maximum of 7.000 cars a year to keep the brand exclusvie. The idea that they would come up with a cheaper model isn't very logical. With a cheaper model, Ferrari's production would increase and this would make the brand less exclusive. Rumors say that this would be a Ferrari with a compact 2.9 liter twinturbo V6 which would produce about 500 hp.

More logical is a the option that Ferrari keeps developing the V8 biturbo from the California T to make it ready for the successor of the 458 Italia or a big update for the 458. Lamborghini's Huracan produces up to 610 hp and that's an extra 40 hp compared with the 458. Ferrari won't be too happy with the fact that the Lamborghini is more powerful. The M458-T Italia should produce an extra 100 hp to keep in front of Lamborghini's Huracán. Ferrari's turbo engines need to lower the CO2 emission of their cars. The V12 engines will stay, but they will get the help of hybrid technology.
