Last weekend the official start of the Oktoberfest took place. The mayor of Munich had the honor to open the first cask of beer and he started a big party in the entire city. BMW also participates and comes up with the BMW M3 "Münchner Wirte" to honor the Oktoberfest.
Münchner Wirte stands for the hosts of Munich and is a one-off creation by BMW. The car has several references to the history of BMW Motorsport and especially the 1981 M1 Procar. The car is fitted with a special livery that looks like the Procar from back in the days. They're not the same but the design is made by the same designer. The meanwhile 73 year old designer drew this livery by hand on the car. The BMW M3 "Münchner Wirte" will be shown during the Oktoberfest at BMW Welt.
