While the Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf can already be found on the streets in Europe, the visitors at the Monterey Car Week 2015 still have to take a look at a press model at the show. It definitely is one of the highlihgts of the Monterey Car Week.
The Lagonda Taraf has a complete EU approval and will also be available in a RHD version. That was the big surprise last week because Aston Martin announced that the Lagonda would only be available for the Middle-East. This is really important for especially the home market of Aston Martin. For CEO Dr. Andy Palmer it was important to make the car available for a larger group to strenghten the brand in different markets.
Aston Martin will build 200 copies and this makes sure that the car will always be really exclusive. Aston Martin wants to focus on the production of bespoke projects with this Lagonda Taraf. The realisation of the One-77, V12 Zagato and the CC110 Speed Concept are in this same category where Aston Martin wants to take things a step further. With the DBX Concept, the manufacturer already gives us a preview.
The saloon is clearly developed with a reference to the Lagonda developed by William Town in 1976. Again this is a groundbreaking design where they used a lot of carbon fiber. The Taraf is completely hand built in Gaydon and is powered by a powerful six liter V12 engine. Via a special VIP sales program customers of Aston Martin get a special treatment when they buy a Lagonda. Every car is completely composed with the Q by Aston Martin program. Aston Martin created a special department for this in Geneva.
