Special: some of the limited versions of the BMW M3 Coupé

During the period that the BMW M3 Coupé of the E92 generation was being produced, BMW sold up to 40.000 copies. The incredibly popular sports coupé is still loved and often spotted. Throughout the years M Motorsport came up with several limited M3 Coupés and we want to highlight a few of these special M3s.

The E92 M3 can already be found in the history books as the only M3 with an eight-cylinder engine. When the M3 Coupé was introduced in 2007, the German power race was in full swing and engines needed to be bigger and bigger. The four liter V8 in the front produces up to 420 hp and that was a big step forwards in 2007, compared with the E46 Coupé which produced 343 hp. The V8 engine managed to win the International Engine of the Year Award up to five times during the production. To keep this mass production model exclusive BMW M came up with several limited models for the real M fanatics.

BMW M3 E92 Lime Rock Park
The unique M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition is made in collaboration with Bill Auberlen and Skip Barber, owners of the Lime Rock Park track. Reason for this collaboration is the long relation between BMW, the famous track and the passionate drivers who love to visit this track. Bill Auberlen helped developing this car by his own judgment. He is a racing driver for seventeen years and drove more than 300 races for BMW. This Lime Rock Park Edition is painted in the famous Fire Orange paint which we know from the M3 GTS. To make the car ready for track-use, the car is fitted with the Competition Package. Every copy can be recognized by a unique serial number in the interior of the car.

BMW M3 E92 Coupé Frozen Silver Edition
Back in 2012 it was the 40th anniversary of BMW M GmbH. Since the start of M GmbH, BMW sold a lot of models in the United Kingdom. That’s a perfect reason to build 100 copies of the Frozen Limited Edition. Not a normal paint but a matte paint makes this M3 Coupé very exclusive. Next to the matte colour, the exterior has a few other aspects which make it a very special car. The car is fitted with 19 inch matte black wheels, a new exhaust, extra carbon fiber details and a lowered suspension of ten millimeters.
