Almost every SUV manufacturer has a hybrid version in their model range. Take the BMW X6 Active Hybrid or the Lexus RX300h for example. But even the Audi Q5 and Porsche Cayenne have a hybrid version. Land Rover also introduced a version last year. This is a diesel engine combined with a electric engine. But that’s not all for Land Rover. Last week, the gasoline hybrid version was spotted!
On the following movie of our friends from Tourclips, we hear... nothing. Yes, we hear the tires and the sound of the birds. The camouflaged Range Rover Sport is driving around on the Nürburgring without any sound of the engine. What are they working on? We did some research on the license plate of the car and concluded that this spotted Range Rover Sport is registered as a 5.0 liter gasoline version. It wouldn’t surprise us if Land Rover is working on a hybrid version of the 5.0 liter gasoline engine. The video shows us, and lets us hear that the electric engine is even used at high speeds. We’re really wondering what Land Rover will come up with! Will it be a complete electric Plug-in Hybrid?
