Spyshots: renewed Porsche Cayman

The big dieselgate at Volkswagen also influences their colleagues at Porsche who also sell diesel models. Luckily, the Germans also built sports cars powered by gasoline engines. They're working on a renewed Cayman and this model seems to be ready for introduction.

The Cayman was captured almost completely without camouflage. New to this car are an adjusted front bumper, restyled taillights and LED daytime running lights. Also new are the headlights but it's hard to see the difference. Eventually, it are the small details that make the Cayman look more fresh. In the interior we can find important adjustments to the Porsche Communications Management System that's completely renewed and equipped with AppleCarPlay.

Under the hood it's even more interesting. Porsche is working on four-cylinder versions for the Boxster and Cayman for quite a while already. These versions will also be introduced. A compact 1.6 and 2.0 turbo engine are coming. The 1.6 four-cylinder engine will produces 210 hp while the 2.0 liter produces 286 hp. Next to that, rumors say that Porsche will also come up with a 2.5 liter producing 400 hp. The four-cylinder engines won't reduce the performance of the car but we will miss the sound of the six-cylinder boxer engine.
