Supercars' Southern Sojourn

Supercars' Southern Sojourn

Supercars do a 700km roundtrip in South India. Here is how!

India isn't the first country that would come to one's mind when it comes to supercars, but with a newer generation of supercar owners in India, things are slowly changing. A group of supercar owners did a 700km round trip from Calicut in Kerala to Bengaluru in Karnataka recently to collect their friend's Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4. The group consisting of 3 supercars, which might be a tiny number compared to the scene abroad, did a road trip to Bengaluru from Calicut. A Porsche 911 Carrera S, an Audi R8 V8 along with a Ferrari 458 Italia came down to pick up the Lamborghini.

The route they took was Calicut to Wayanad to Mysuru to Bengaluru with a night halt at the picturesque Wayanad! The total trip included 5 fuel stops for these beasts. Speaking to Mr. Avinash Krishnaji, the person who tagged along and bought us these amazing pictures, we learnt that the roads were great except for a few speed bumps. "It was a fun trip with the supercars roaring on straights and hill bends. It was also amazing to see the enthusiasm of the people on the way and the way they recognized the cars!" he quips. Clearly, the supercar scene in India is growing!

Another noticable thing is that the 458 left home with the stock 5 star spoke Ferrari rims and came back home with a spanking new set of ADV.1 rims done up by RaceTech India, the same guys who also gave a thorugh once over to the Gallardo. The Audi R8 too is running on some superb sounding Capristo exhausts.

All in all, the trip was a treat to the senses of the supercar owners and on lookers alike with some beautiful roads and beautiful beasts!

A big shout out and kudos to the owners of these beauties who undertook such a trip and proved to many that supercars in India aren't just showpieces or garage queens! A huge thanks to Avinash Krishnaji for sharing these wonderful pictures with us! The pictures which best capture the essence of India with typically Indian backdrops are attached below for pure viewing pleasure. This trip might be one of the first of its kind, but certainly not the last!
Enjoy the pictures!
