The latest McLaren P1 is fully electric

And technically this is completely true.

McLaren Automotive already said that, as part of the TRACK 22 business plan, they would need a fully electric vehicle in the Ultimate Series. Now they have developed a fully electric vehicle based on the P1 that will be available in limited production for select potential clients. Potential clients being those of the age of six and under. At least, that's the official target audience.

Based on the P1, this car differs in two ways from the 'real' P1. The drivers seat is in the center of the cabin and the car does not come with a roof. The roof has been omitted from the car for an optimal seating and driving experience. Entertainment-wise the car comes equipped with an MP3 player and speakers. This new McLaren is has push to start technology. Exterior options are relatively limited, the car comes in one color: Volcano Yellow. At this point it is still unclear what kind of MSO options are available, but knowing McLaren's Special Operations division there's many possibilities. The new McLaren P1 is also considerably more affordable than the older version, with a price of approximately 400 Euros. This car is available for order at your local McLaren dealer in October.
