What happened to the McLaren P1 VP5?

Hey, that’s strange… The McLaren P1 which used to be registered on these Swiss plates was the VP5 Model (Validation Prototypes) and it was painted in yellow. Somehow this owner managed to buy a pre-production car, and it seems as if it got a complete overhaul.

The last time this car has been spotted was during April this year in Monaco. The car was still yellow back then and the VP5-logo was present on the side skirts. By now, time has advanced five months and the car apparently became purple. It’s most likely that the car went back to McLaren to receive a major update and a color change. It takes MSO (McLaren Special Operations) nearly three months to do a complete respray including fitting the requested modifications by the customer. Pretty awesome, although I presume it will cost you an arm and leg.
