It is quite rare for us to receive top-tier car spots from the bustling city of Hong Kong. However, when we do, they are often of an entirely different caliber. This time, an Italian icon emerged, one we had never seen before.
The Lamborghini Miura is considered one of the most iconic and beloved Lamborghinis of all time. The Lamborghini Miura P400 S, better known as the Miura S, is a legend in automotive history and one of the first true supercars. It was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1968 and produced until 1971, when it was succeeded by the Miura SV. With its innovative mid-engine design, which was primarily found in race cars at the time, the Miura set new standards in sports car engineering.
Beneath the elegant bodywork, designed by the renowned Marcello Gandini for Bertone, lies a powerful 3.9-liter V12 engine mounted transversely behind the seats. Compared to its predecessor, the Miura P400, its output was increased to 370 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, giving the Miura S an impressive top speed of 280 km/h. Its acceleration is equally striking: the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. A manual 5-speed transmission ensures the ultimate driving experience.
The Miura S brought numerous improvements over the Miura P400. Larger brakes and an optimized suspension enhanced handling, while the more luxurious interior, featuring electric windows, chrome details, and high-quality upholstery, added comfort. Externally, the Miura S is a masterpiece: its flowing lines and the distinctive "eyelashes" around the pop-up headlights make it unmistakable. Additionally, it was equipped with lightweight magnesium wheels, which reduced the vehicle's overall weight.
Although this spot originated from the bustling city of Hong Kong, it was captured in an unusually tranquil setting with trees and little traffic—something quite uncharacteristic of the city.
