A sight we had never seen before

The Bentley Azure was a car from an era that, sadly, no longer exists. It was essentially the open-top version of Bentley's flagship model. While today's Continental GT models are more focused on performance and sportiness, the Azure was all about pure luxury. Unfortunately, pure luxury also tends to mean pure weight. This Azure T, however, makes up for that with a complete carbon-fibre body.

We have seen all sorts of things from Bentley over the years. From unusual, and sometimes downright ugly, specifications to beautifully configured examples, modified cars and, of course, the countless rather boring silver and black ones we see most often. But this one is none of them. It is unique in its own way.
What we have here is an Azure with an entire body made from carbon fibre. Originally weighing around 2.6 tonnes, my calculations suggest that it may now weigh just 2.3 tonnes, a reduction of roughly 300 kilograms. Considering the weight of the car, that is still a substantial saving.
So, from a purely practical point of view, you could argue that there was not much sense in carrying out such an extensive conversion. But it is undeniably cool, especially as this is probably the only Azure T in the world with a full carbon-fibre body.
Exactly how the car was built remains a mystery, unfortunately. Nevertheless, this was an absolutely fantastic spot!
