A very suitable environment for the 911 Dakar

In its natural habitat, the 911 Dakar thrives effortlessly, a choice perfectly made by susussin14 for this Porsche.

At first glance, what catches the eye is the ground clearance of the 911 Dakar: it stands 50 millimeters taller than a 911 Carrera with a sport suspension. Moreover, the standard lift system can elevate the driving level by an additional 30 mm. Its ground clearance and ramp angle can rival those of conventional SUVs. The lift system isn't solely designed for overcoming obstacles at low speeds; it's an integral part of the newly tuned suspension. For off-road adventures at speeds of up to 170 km/h, the "High Mode" setting is available. Beyond this speed, the car automatically lowers back to its normal level.

Further distinctive features of the 911 Dakar include the newly developed, fixed lightweight carbon fiber rear spoiler and the front carbon fiber luggage compartment lid borrowed from the 911 GT3, equipped with striking air outlets. Added to these are standard off-road details such as the red aluminum tow hooks at the front and rear, widened wheel arches and sills, as well as stainless steel protective elements at the front, rear, and side sills. The newly designed front end's side air intakes are also shielded by stainless steel grilles to guard against stone impacts. Carbon fiber reinforced plastic, CFK bucket seats, the omission of rear seats, lightweight glass, and a lightweight battery further reduce the weight, allowing the Porsche 911 Dakar to tip the scales at only 1,605 kg – merely 10 kg heavier than the 911 Carrera 4 GTS with PDK.

Powering the 911 Dakar is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 353 kW (480 PS) and a maximum torque of 570 Newton-meters, delivering confident performance accompanied by an enchanting boxer engine sound. It propels the sports car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 240 km/h (limited by the off-road tires). Handling power distribution for the all-wheel-drive sports car is an eight-speed PDK transmission.
