All eyes were locked on one car in the middle of Zurich - the jaw-dropping TdF blue Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. What an insane sight this was in the city center. Even with a flip-painted Lamborghini Aventador casually in the background, it didn’t stand a chance at stealing attention from this Aperta. With a car that rare and that beautiful, it’s no surprise everyone turned to stare.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this exact LaFerrari Aperta, but this spotting definitely stood out. The crowds around it were massive this time. Funny enough, back in 2022, it was seen in Zurich as well - same car, just wearing dealer plates, and at that point it was just parked on the side of the road with barely anyone around. Fast forward to now, and it's center stage, right where it belongs.

What makes this sighting even more special is its new license plate - LU 51 - which has quite the history on our site. That plate has been on some wild rides over the years. Back in 2016, it was first seen on a black McLaren 12C, which later got wrapped in matte orange and popped up a few times after that. It then made its way to a black Bentley Bentayga Diesel, followed by a black Mercedes-AMG G 63 W463. From that heavy G-Class, the plate moved onto something way more track-focused - the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (C190), finished in AMG’s signature matte green. But the biggest surprise was what came next - a black and blue Bugatti Veyron 16.4. That car was a serious statement.

After that, LU 51 kept jumping onto some more big names. It went on a black Lamborghini Urus S, and then to what’s probably my all-time favorite SUV - the Ferrari Purosangue. That car was finished in matte red and packed a naturally aspirated V12, something I honestly didn’t expect to see in a modern SUV era like this. And now, from one naturally aspirated V12 to another, the plate sits proudly on this gorgeous LaFerrari Aperta.
It’s been a wild journey for that license plate, and now the question is - can it even get better than this? Right now, it feels like LU 51 has reached its peak. A TdF blue Aperta with that kind of presence is hard to top. Hopefully we’ll keep seeing it out and about, because a car like this deserves to be seen and appreciated. For now, LU 51 has found a pretty perfect home.
