Aventador SV Roadster takes on the stunning Alpine roads of Julierpass

The pass season is still on hold for a few months, but some routes, like the Julierpass, remain open year-round - provided you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle or snow chains in case of heavy snowfall. Fortunately, this Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Roadster comes equipped with four-wheel drive, and with dry roads, it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking Alpine scenery.

The mountains were blanketed in snow, the skies were a brilliant blue, and the sun shone just as brightly as the stunning yellow paintwork of this Italian masterpiece. However, it's clear that this Aventador has been put through its paces - its dirt-covered body tells a story of a car that's been properly driven, which is exactly what we love to see.

The History of the Julierpass

The Julierpass is one of Switzerland's most historic mountain passes, connecting the Engadin valley with central Graubünden. Sitting at an elevation of 2,284 meters, the pass has been an important transit route for centuries, dating back to the Roman Empire. It was part of a strategic network of roads that facilitated trade and military movement through the Alps, with remnants of ancient Roman milestones still visible along the route.

During the Middle Ages, the Julierpass remained a key connection between northern and southern Europe, used by merchants, pilgrims, and travelers seeking a passage through the rugged terrain. Unlike some other high-altitude passes, it was less susceptible to avalanches, making it a relatively reliable year-round route even in harsh winters.

In modern times, the Julierpass continues to serve as a vital link for both commuters and tourists, offering some of the most scenic driving experiences in the Alps. The well-maintained road winds through dramatic landscapes, making it a favorite among car enthusiasts and motorcyclists. Whether covered in snow or basking in summer sunshine, the Julierpass remains a testament to Switzerland’s rich history and breathtaking natural beauty.
