BMW M3 F82 drives a lap on the Nürburgring in less than eight minutes

New cars mean new speculations. Our friends from BMWblog.com had a talk with the bosses of BMW M on the Detroit Motor Show and of course they talked about the Nürburgring. What lap time will the BMW M3 set on the Nürburgring, a perfect measure to show what your car is capable of. Great news, the new M3 is at least ten seconds faster than its predecessor. But that isn't so surprising because the car weighs less and is more powerful.

The weight of the car is reduced thanks to multiple weight reductions. The straight six instead of the V8 weighs less. Next to that, the ceramic brakes are six to seven kilograms lighter than standard brakes. The backseat weighs five kilograms less than a normal 3 and 4 Series backseat. The trunk weighs four kilograms less and of course the roof is made out of carbon fiber. They reduced enough weight to set such a fast lap, but what's the exact time? We're very curious, definitely because recently a few movies were released with Bruno Spengler behind the steering wheel. This driver is honored by BMW with his own limited Bruno Spengler M3!
