When you're the CEO of Jaguar you can probably choose a new car every week. That's probably why the man behind the steering wheel of this Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupé is smiling. The man in the car is Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover. That must be a great job looking at all the great developments of both brands!
Jaguar had some tough years but since the introduction of the new models they're doing better than ever before. The new XJ, XF, XK and of course the F-TYPE are all beauties. But the highlight of Jaguar is the car in which Dr. Speth is driving around. The F-TYPE Coupé is the biggest succes of Jaguar and this version is the one we will soon test ourselves. 550 hp on the rear wheels with a weight of only 1650 kilograms promises to be a lot of fun. The F-TYPE sprints to 100 kph in 4.1 seconds and is able to reach a top speed of 300 kph!
Dr. Speth was employed by BMW in 1980 where he worked for 20 years. After seven years of absence he returned in the automotive business as Director of Production, Quality and Product Planning for the Ford Motor Company. In 2010, he became CEO of Jaguar Land Rover after Ford sold both companies to TATA. We must say that this is quite an impressive career!
